MEDIUM

CIRCULAR WALK

We initially follow the same path as the short walkers.

However, where they split off towards Sand Delf Hill we take a path to our left and follow a wall past Drop Farm up to the top of Oxenhope Stoop Hill.

Take a right path  down towards Harbour Lodge and continue on a steep path passing Bronte Waterfall before emerging at Bronte Bridge.

From here we pick up the path taken by the short walkers up to Top Withins.

From here along the Pennine Way and down past Ponden Reservoir.

Turning right we head up to Oldfield Farm and West House Farm before following the path back into Haworth.

SHORT

CIRCULAR WALK

We leave the Bronte Museum Car Park and head back to the Quarry Car Park tofollow the path up towards Penistone Hill. This is a moderate incline.

Turn off slightly to our right, around the side of Sand Delf Hill on across Haworth Moor towards Harbour Lodge. Turn right and slightly double back on ourselves as we drop down to Bronte Bridge

From here we continue up a steady incline for just over a mile until we reach the site of the ruined cottage at Top Withins.

This part of the moor is that which is said to be the inspiration for Emily Bronte to write Wuthering Heights.

From Top Withins we turn back following the Pennine Way before we turn right towards Hill End as we make our way back down to Bronte Bridge.

Turn right here and head to Haworth  passing Middle Intake Farm to Moor Side Lane. turn left and walk down to the bottom of the hill before following the second signposted path to the right. This brings us to the end of Cemetery Road and allows us to enjoy views of the valley as we walk back into Haworth.

At the end of the Road, we turn right walking along the main road before picking up a path to our right which takes us back to the Museum Car Park.
