SUNDAY 9 JUNE, SUTTON-IN-CRAVEN (AIREDALE VALLEY)

SHORT

CIRCULAR WALK

Starting from Sutton-in-Craven the walk travels south following Lumb Clough Beck in a tree lined valley. The route then climbs out of the valley and passes through fields and farms to reach America Lane. Continuing through a number of fields the route reaches Todley Halle Road and then joins the Bradford Millennium Way travelling west along Newsholme Dean to Slippery Ford. Turning right for a short distance and then left onto the moors the route heads for the Hitching Stone and then onto Wainman's Pinnacle and Lund's Tower with views to Pendle Hill, Penyghent, Buckden Pike, Simon's Seat and many others. The route now drops down through a number of fields to return to Sutton-in-Craven.

MEDIUM

CIRCULAR WALK

As with the short walk the starting paint is Sutton-in-Craven. The walk travels south following Lum Clough Beck in a tree lined valley. The route then climbs out of the valley and passes through fields and farms to reach America Lane. Continuing through a number of fields the route reaches Todley Hall Road and then joins the Bradford Millennium Way travelling west along Newsholme Dean to Slippery Ford. Turning left and then right onto the moors it continues on the Millenniuym Way passing Keighley Moor Reservoir. Leaving the Millennium Way the route heads west and in a short time joins the Pennine Way heading north over the moors then passed a number of farms to meet Old Lane for a short distance. The route then turns east on a path to the highlight of the walkm Wainman's Pinnacle and Lund's Tower with views to Pendle Hill, Penyghent, Buckden Pike, Simon's Seat and many others. The route now drops ;down through a number of fields to end in Sutton-in-Craven,

LONG

 LINEAR WALK

This linear walk starts at drop off point on the A6265 in Eastburn and immediately picks up the Bradford Millennium Way. Heading south the route is mainly through fields with some road walking. Passing through Goose Eye the walk follows a bridle way through Newsholme Dean, briefly touches Todley Hall Road then continues on a footpath to Slippery Ford. Continuing on the Millennium way the route reaches Keighley Moor Reservoir then turns south to cross Harehill Edge, Oldfield Lane and Hob Lane after which the route meets and now follows the Pennine Way west past Ponden Reservoir then north back onto the moors. After continuing north over thge moors thge route passes a number of farms, meets Old Lane for a short distances then turns east on a [ath to the highlight of the walk, Wainman's Pinnacle and Lund's Tower with views to Pendle Hill, Penyghent, Buckden Pike, Simon's Seat and many others. The route nbow drops down through a number of fields to end in Sutton-in-Craven.
