SHORT

CIRCULAR WALK

The short walk will be 6  miles following the Dane Valley Way and the Macclesfield Canal.

MEDIUM

CIRCULAR WALK

The medium walk (12 miles) goes via Astbury Country Park (near the pub), the Macclesfield Canal then the South Cheshire Way (which ascends to the Old Man of Mow Statue). The route then follows the Gritstone trail and Staffordshire Moorlands Walk to reach the old railway line track of the Biddulph Valley Way. We will then follow this back to Congleton to rejoin the canal and retrace our steps back to the coach.

LONG

CIRCULAR WALK

If the long walkers want to climb some hills then I suggest the Gritstone trail from Timbersbrook (easily reached from Congleton) back to Tegg's Nose (where I led the walk from in 2023) as it crosses four good sized hills (The Cloud, 343 m) , Wincle Minn (386 m), Croker Hill (402 m) and Tegg's Nose (385 m)
