We leave Ripon in a south westerly direction along the River Skell passing Hell Wath cottage and Whitcliffe Hall. Heading west and then north to Mann's Cave we enter the grounds of Studley Royal, walking along the Seven Bridges Valley to the lake and then on to the obelisk. Turning east we walk down the main drive passing St. Mary's church with views of Ripon cathedral in the distance. We walk through Studley Roger then along the Rivers Laver and Skell back into Ripon

Starting from near Ripley Castle we head due north on the Nidderdale Way to Cayton Gill and High Cayton. Still heading north we walk on field paths to Markington where we join the Ripon Rowel Walk passing Markenfield Hall. Further on at Whitcliffe Hall we turn west and then north to Mann's Cave where we enter the grounds of Studley Royal walking along the Seven Bridges Valley to the lake and then on to the obelisk. We walk through Studley Roger then turn right at Rose Bridge and left at Hell Wath cottage to follow the River Skell into Ripon.

Starting from Killinghall we head west through Myers Green to Hampsthwaite then north and west along the Nidderdale Way to Ripley.
