Sinnington  is a village in the Ryedale district of the county of North Yorkshire.

It is located on the southern boundary of the North York Moors National Park.

Typical of the area are the medieval cruck-built longhouses which were constructed as single storey combined dwelling and beast houses and made of the local Jurassic limestone.

 

Appleton-le-Moors is an ancient village recorded in the Domesday Book, retaining its classic mediaeval layout today. It is a site of archaeological interest, being a rich source of finds such as flint tools, Roman coins and a mediaeval oven. It is particularly noted for its exceptionally fine 19th century church which has earned the description "the little gem of moorland churches" and is Grade I listed.

 

Hutton-le-Hole village has the Ryedale Folk Museum which contains 17 rescued and reconstructed historic buildings, including shops, thatched cottages, an Elizabethan manor house, and barns and workshops. They display the lives of ordinary people, up to the present day. There is also a model village.
