TYPES OF WALK
All walk destinations have a choice of either a short, medium or long walk. These walks cover all levels of ability and stamina.
Please choose a walk that you are able to do in both distance and pace. It is often best to start with the short walk and move up to the Medium, when you
feel comfortable to do so.
Short Walk (easy to moderate 6-8 miles)
The pace is generally slow and relaxed with a number of stops and sometimes places to visit on route.
The terrain is easier and climbing or descending is minimal. More time is available at the final destination
to relax and enjoy the location.
Medium Walk (moderate 10-12 miles)
The pace is slightly faster than the short walk and the terrain can be more undulating with additional climbing and descending. There are frequent stops and overall far less challenging than the long walk.
Long Walk (more of a challenge usually around 14 miles)
The pace is a little faster than the medium walk with few stops. The terrain is usually rugged with more climbing and descending. These walks can somtimes be challenging.
Read the monthly walk details and choose the walk that is right for you on the day,
so you are comfortable with the pace of that walk.
