WALK ROUTES
Short Walk:
Leader TBC - 7 miles medium
Hole of Horcum to Goathland
The route leaves Saltergate car park through a valley and woodland to cross the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The route goes up Needle Point and more woodland then along the top of
Northdale Scar out onto Goathland Moor to Eller Beck bridge.
A short section along the Goathland road leads to the dismantled railway line into Goathland.
Medium Walk:
Leader TBC - 12 miles moderate
The Fox & Rabbit to Goathland
The route leaves the Fox & Rabbit to go down Cross Dale to
Farwath Crossing then via Sleights Road track and a short climb to Levisham. From there the route crosses Levisham Moor to Saltergate and follows the Short walk route into Goathland.
Long Walk:
Leader TBC - 16 miles moderate
Pickering to Goathland
The route leaves Pickering to roughly follow the route of the North Yorkshire Moors railway via Newbridge to Farwath Crossing and follows the Medium walk route into Goathland.

All walks are linear and finish in Goathland.
The routes cover a variety of terrains from farmland to open moorland and woodland. There are one or two short climbs depending on which route is chosen. The views on these walks are spectacular if the weather is good enough.

Goathland is a village in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire. It is in the North York Moors National Park
due north of Pickering, off the A169 to Whitby.
Goathland has a station on the steam-operated
North Yorkshire Moors Railway line. The celebrity station became the bewitching Hogsmeade station in the first Harry Potter film.
Goathland
and featured as Aidensfield in the beloved ITV programme Heartbeat. Earlier still, it was used as the setting for Darrowby Station in All Creatures Great and Small.
