September Walk - Heptonstall,
Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

All of the three walks are circular from Heptonstall

Short Walk:
Leader TBC - 7.5 miles undulating
From Coach Park 9near Radio Mast) in Heptonstall head SW then NW to join the Claderdale Way.
Walk through Slack and turn north via Gibson Mill and Hardcastle Crags to Walshaw.
Going east on Calder/Aire link through Horodiddie and Coppy to Nook, then drop down to the Lumb Falls at Lumb Hole.
Continue south joining the Haworth to Hebden Bridge walk to New Bridge (Ble Pig) then follow the Calderdale Way back to Heptonstall.
Medium Walk:
Leader TBC - 10.5 miles moderate undulating
Start as the short walk to the Caldale Way continuing along this
route until it crosses the Pennine Way, go NW on the Pennine Way, passing Gorple Cottages turn immediately SE passing the Pack Horse pub, then turn east to Walshaw.
Going east on Calder/Aire Link through Horodiddle and Coppy to Nook then drop down to the Lumb Falls at Lumb Hole.
Continue south joining the Haworth to Hebden Bridge walk to New Bridge (Blue Pig). Then follow the Calderdale Way back to Heptonstall.
Alternatively continue to Hebden Water and Hebden Bridge town and back to Heptonstall.
Heptonstall
Long Walk:
Leader TBC - 14.5 miles moderate undulating
Walk starts from Heptonstall and continues as short walk to Walshaw. Head north to Walshaw Dean Reservoir (Middle)
Follow the Pennine Way NE past Top Withens until we reach the Bronte Way.
Here go south to Bronte Bridge then east on the MIllenium Way to Tom Stells Seat at Penistone Hill, Haworth Moor.
Then head south past Drop Farm to Lee Lane. Go SW and join the Calder/Aire Link route to Nook.
Then drop down to the Lumb Falls at Lumb Hole.
Continue south joining the Haworth to Hebden Bridge walk to New Bridge (Blue Pig). Then follow the Calderdale Way back to Heptonstall.
Alternatively continue to Hebden Water and Hebden Bridge town and back to Heptonstall.

Heptonstall is a wonderfully preserved village with a cobbled main street that has changed very little in the last 200 years. A small village and civil parish within the Calderdale borough of West Yorkshire. The population of Heptonstall, includes the hamlets of Colden and Slack Top.
South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival
12 - 27 September, various walking and cycling events are held.
With a cycle route on Sunday 13th starting at Hebden Bridge Town Hall. Challenging mountain bike ride with technical sections. Approx 30km. An additional event at 4.15pm in Hebden Bridge Picture House. It is a special screening of the Montane Spine Race film by Summit Fever.

The Cross Inn - at the very heart of Heptonstall Village. Large selection of rotating real ales with speciality guest ales.
The White Lion - Town Gate, Large selection of quality real ales, ciders and wines and an extensive selection of gins. Excellent choice of home-cooked pub fayre.
Towngate Tea Rooms - a delicious and extensive menu of generous portions and using the freshest, locally produced ingredients. Huge selection of homemade cakes, tarts, cupcakes and other delights to go with your refreshing cuppa.
